We are keen to have psychologists join us at band 8a, or at band 7 on a preceptorship, in Adult Treatment & Recovery Teams across the county in LeicestershirePartnership NHS Trust. Recent investment in psychological services hassupported us to build a substantial service structure with psychologists inlead roles including directorate level.
We have psychologists as pathway leads for complextrauma, psychosis and personality disorders who are supported by psychologistsat every grade. There are therefore clear career paths for psychologists whojoin us and we are committed to your development through training andsupervision.
We support our psychologists to employ the full range of theirskills, and to divide their time accordingly. You will be able to participatein teaching, training, research, service development, supervision, teamsupervision, reflective practice and direct clinical work for individuals andgroups. Main duties of the job
In our multidisciplinary Treatment & Recovery Teams you will work alongside Lead Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists to help our population through direct and indirect interventions, delivering individual and group interventions, supervising, and making a psychological contribution to the interventions of other professionals in the team.
You will have opportunity to apply and/or hone the breadth of psychology skills and do so with the support and supervision of a group of experienced psychologists that meet regularly for clinical supervision, learning, clinical and service development discussion, and peer support. There will be opportunities to develop yourself through internal and external training programmes, and to shape our mental health services.
We have strong links to the University of Leicester and you can be involved in teaching, trainee placements, and input to the development of the curriculum. The network of psychologists across LPT range of services will meet regularly to exchange ideas and learning through a forum meeting.

Essential
Honours degree in Psychology or with Psychology as the main subject.
Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Doctoral (DClinPsy) or recognised and approved equivalent qualification in Clinical Psychology.
Registered as a qualified Clinical Psychologist with the UK Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Doctoral level of knowledge of Clinical Psychology including knowledge of Lifespan Developmental Psychology, models of psychopathology, psychometrics and neuropsychology as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and two or more distinct psychological therapies to at least practitioner level.
Skills in the use of methods of complex and individualised psychological assessment from foundational psychological theory, intervention and management of risk, frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.
Skills in providing consultation to other staff groups outside applied psychology services.
Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis as practised within the clinical fields of psychology.
