The Recruitment Co. are currently recruiting for a Trainee FMS Project Engineer (Sales & Technical) to join our clients expanding team based in the Swansea area.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £28,000 p.a

Working hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Monday – Friday (40 hours per week): Please note: Travel would be part of the role after training.

Objective of the role: To provide intrinsic & critical technical support to external customers and Stakeholders (In house and on site). To apply commercial understanding of business needs to upsell and secure detailed tender contracts within the industry to support the continued growth and development of the FMS department and promote and uphold the prestige of the company’s service support and products.

Working as part of the FMS /FMP division (for both internal and external customers) to maximise customer satisfaction through technical knowhow, understanding of customer needs and requirements.

Duties:-

  • Supporting solutions within the FMS team as well as championing timely and successful projects.

  • Prepare tender documents as a basis for securing customers and projects.

  • Review technical submissions & industry standard documents

  • Prepare task & site-specific RAMS for project works.

  • Liaise with various bodies and individuals, including, clients, contractors, residents, suppliers, technical experts, and other consultants.

  • support other project managers, sales engineers, department managers and directors within the business and across the wider market

  • keep up to date with environmental matters, and be aware of policy and developments in the area

  • present technical data or project results to both technical and non-technical clients and colleagues

  • monitor the progress of projects from beginning to end – from tender through to completion and handover – or supervise one section of a large project

  • control budgets at project level and ensure profitability.

  • administer contracts and ensure that work is completed to deadline

  • supervise the operation and maintenance of water monitoring contracts.

  • manage staff, including other engineers, technicians, and site workers

  • maintain and expand the portfolio of clients by developing professional relationships that lead to secure repeat business.

  • Manage internal/external R&D projects while ensuring clear communication with internal stakeholders/shareholders

  • Travel to customer sites to complete site surveys as part of sales engineering works.

  • Review and implement internal documentation control associated to FMS/FMP processes.

  • Provide technical content for the marketing department.

  • Provide key client account management.

  • Review technical white papers in association with internal R&D projects.

  • In-line with company expectations, professionally develop through accredited training schemes that add value to the role and FMS/FMP department.

Skills:-

  • Tender /Report writing skills communication, literacy, numeracy, problem-solving abilities and basic IT skills for data entry, printing, and processing. Mentored by Senior Project managers

  • Physically active and able to work in occasional inhospitable environments.

  • Sound engineering & water treatment chemistry Understanding

  • Experience of project management

  • Knowledge of BSRIA BG29 & BG50 guidance. This can be supported by the Senior Team and will be a learning requirement.

  • Familiar with HSE ACOP L8, specifically HSG274 Part 1, 2 & 3. Again this would be supported.

  • Knowledge of corrosion chemistry.

  • Communication and negotiation skill

  • Good teamwork and people management skills, for working with colleagues and clients

  • Problem-solving ability

  • Ability to interpret technical reports.

  • IT knowledge and a willingness to learn new systems

  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach to work
