Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Working within the device design and industrialisation team supporting the development of a wide range of combination products from concept generation to design transfer
  • Generating high-quality design history file documentation such as component drawings, DFMEAs, BOMs and technical reports in compliance with an ISO 13485 certified quality management system
  • Working in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to overcome design challenges using engineering tools such as root cause analysis and analytical design tools including hand calculations, CFD, FEA and tolerance analysis
  • Developing and working hands-on with prototype components and devices as required, using the learnings to iterate and improve the device design

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

  • First or upper second mechanical engineering, product design or similar degree
  • Experience with 3D parametric CAD (SolidWorks or Creo preferable)
  • Comfortable with hand-calculations typically used to support device design such as pressure, flow and stress
  • Understanding of CAE tools commonly used in device design such as FEA and CFD
  • Awareness of design for manufacture and assembly of injection moulded components
  • Awareness of design controls applicable to medical device development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A desire to learn about drug delivery device development
