Background of department/role

The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Social Sciences wishes to appoint a new inspiring Specialist Science Technician to join our team of science techs embedded in the section of Natural and Applied Sciences (NAS) in the School of Psychology and Life Sciences.

Natural and Applied Sciences offer a wide range of degrees within the life sciences and currently offer degrees in the areas of human science (Human Biology, Biomedical science), the environment (Wildlife ecology & conservation science, Geography) and Biosciences (Animal science, Plant science, Bioscience, Biochemistry & Genetics, Food science & nutrition).

We are looking for applicants with technical expertise in one or more of the following analytical techniques: ICP OES, HPLC, LC -MS, GC-MS, Discreet analyser and NMRs. 

You will be joining and working closely with a diverse team of science technicians and academics of NAS section. The post holder will be a key member of the team, helping in maintaining and analysing samples for teaching, research and commercial purposes. The post holder will be based in the new specialist teaching and research science labs housed within the Verena Holmes building.
