Job Description

Job Title: Environmental Assessment Manager
Location: WFH/ Occasional site visits
Salary: £38,045 – £57,068 DOE

Job Description:
Client is looking for Environmental Assessment Managers to support the implementation of geological disposal for higher activity radioactive wastes – the UK’s largest environmental protection project.
As a specialist in Environmental Assessment, you will help to:
* Maintain and implement strategy for environmental and sustainability assessments.
* Procure and manage supply chain support for this work.
* Support the development and implementation of Sustainable Design Objectives.
* Assess the non-radiological implications of radioactive waste packaging proposals.
* Ensure that your environmental and sustainability assessment work is properly integrated with our wider work programme – particularly the GDF siting process, design development, radiological safety assessments, and our carbon net zero programme.

To be successful in this role you will have experience of working within the UK regulatory, policy and good practice framework for environmental and sustainability assessments. You will also have experience of producing specialist technical reports supporting statutory assessments such as EIA and Habitats Regulations Assessment.

As a nuclear project this could be a really interesting opportunity if your environmental experience has been developed in other sectors, particularly if this has included work on large scale infrastructure projects, or in a highly regulated environment. We would be particularly interested to hear from you if you have experience of marine and coastal projects and/or have a technical background in mathematical modelling to support environmental assessments (e.g. in developing ecosystem component models or in noise and air quality modelling).
In addition, you will draw on your experience of managing relationships with regulators & other external stakeholders as you act as an ambassador.
