Specialist Clinical Pharmacist (Haematology/Oncology)

An exciting post for a specialist clinical pharmacist has arisen in the Royal Hospital for Children working within the Paediatric Haematology and Oncology pharmacy team. You will be a patient focussed clinical practitioner who will be an active member of the multidisciplinary team advising and promoting the safe effective use of medicines and in particular the safe prescribing, delivery and monitoring of systemic anti-cancer therapy. You will also support technician-led medicines management (MMyMeds) initiatives and be active in the ongoing development and maintenance of electronic prescribing systems that provide systemic anticancer treatment. The post holder will work closely with the Team Leads and the MDT to provide a constant, equitable, high quality clinical pharmacy service. You must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience and have completed stage 2 SVTS or equivalent. Experience working within a paediatric or haematology/oncology setting is desirable. Excellent management and communication skills with a flexible approach to working are essential to the role. The post holder will participate in a 5 out of 7 day work pattern and will be required to participate in delivery of pharmacy services at weekends, public holidays and on-call as part of a rota.
