Main duties of the job

  •  Support Health Visitors in delivering health promotion within home, clinic and other community based settings as agreed
  • Contribute to the implementation of the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme as per Health Board, and / or service level agreement and directed by the Health Visitor (HV)
  • Following initial assessment by HV, carry out delegated programmes / packages of care or follow up health needs at home or in clinic
  • Undertake screening and/or other health related and developmental assessments

    Essential criteria

  • BTEC level 3 Diploma in Early Years Or CACHE Diploma in Child care and Education, Level 3 (2 year course) Or NVQ/QCF level 3 in Early Years and Education Or NNEB/National diploma in childhood studies
  • Desirable criteria

  • NVQ/QCF level 4 in Early Years and Education
  • Experience

    Essential criteria

  • Previous experience of working with infants and children and parents/carers.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Experience in community or health related field. Experience of facilitating groups.
  • Skills

    Essential criteria

  • Good organisational skills. Ability to plan own work Ability to work in a team and develop a good working relationship with other agencies Excellent communication skills Computer literate e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Awareness of current Welsh Government initiatives pertaining to Children and Families Working knowledge of All Wales child protection procedures Child development Knowledge of child behavior management techniques.   • Experience of behaviour management techniques Able to discuss recent advances in the sphere of public health.
