We have a vacancy that has arisen in our Inpatient Dementia services for a Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager with an RNMH / RNLD qualification. The successful applicant will be based on the female dementia ward in Nuneaton.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about working with people with dementia and their families / carers; organised; patient centred and has strong leadership skills and excellent team working ability. Candidates should be able to demonstrate they have extensive experience of working in Mental Health Nursing, is a student practice assessor and ideally has experience working in a dementia inpatient setting.

The post holder will provide strong clinical and operational leadership to their team on a day to day basis, provide their team of staff with monthly supervision and support in patient flow and ensuring timely appropriate discharges from the ward.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Ward Manager in all duties relating to the overall continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of plans of care and the setting of standards of care. You will also support the ward manager in managing HR and staffing issues, rostering and appraisals.

The post holder will have excellent clinical skills, and be able to facilitate protected learning days to disseminate their knowledge to the team, as well as work in the role of practice assessor for student nurses.
