Group Manager

Job description

We are looking for a suitably qualified and highly motivated experienced Group Manager with a broad range of skills sets who can make an immediate impact. We need someone who can secure quality outcomes whilst possessing the organisational skills to manage a demanding workload to meet statutory, service, and financial targets.

You will have the ability to effectively manage, motivate and provide guidance to teams and individuals, be able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement and be able to work under pressure with self-discipline using your own initiatives to provide resolute decision making. You will need to influence and provide a positive contribution to development projects to ensure a safe, accessible, and sustainable built environment within the City.

You will be required to undertake the day to day decision making and management of all aspects of a Local Authority Core City Building Control service, negotiating with and advising both internal and external clients. You will need to demonstrate a business friendly and customer focussed approach.

Membership of a professional body commensurate with the position is a requirement as a demonstration of professional leadership

You will work within the framework of, and promote, Sheffield City Councils corporate vision.
