PRS Placement Officer (Homes for Ukraine)

12 month contract, full time, 36 hours a week

Level 3, Zone 1

Starting salary of £35,123

25 days holiday

Location: There will be occasions when you are required to be out of the office – property inspections, property and agency visits, tenant sign ups etc.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in a 12 month contract.

The successful postholder will be accountable for the procurement and inspection of properties in the private sector. 

You will promote Camden’s Private Rental Scheme and work with landlords and tenants towards the service being a market leader in the borough 

About you

Experience working as a lettings negotiator in the private rented sector or another local authority essential.

You may be working for a Housing Association in a private rented property procurement role.

Key Responsibilities

To ensure target levels of procurement from private sector landlords

To negotiate the best financial deals for new supply of properties

Inspect properties to ensure it meets the agreed property standard

Match suitable clients to available properties and co-ordinate the whole process from viewing to sign up

To offer service to landlords to ensure complaints and issues are resolved quickly

Promote the  councils private rented sector schemes

Actively identify ways to increase supply of affordable private rented sector properties

Essential skills and experience

Essential skills:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills both verbal and written

A good knowledge of the private rented sector and property procurement

A good understanding of the Housing Act and how it relates to homeless households

Good IT skills in particular to managing and querying excel spreadsheets and databases

Lettings experience either in the private rented sector or a local authority run PRS scheme

Dealing with landlords and tenants

In addition to the above, it will be an advantage if you also have the following:

Knowledge of the Localism Act and Welfare reforms

Knowledge of Housing Benefit, Universal credit and Local Housing Allowance (LHA)

Understanding of the London rental market
