Career Teachers are currently seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Geography Teacher to join a secondary school in York from January 2023 on a long term supply basis.

The role commences in January on a full time basis, for the rest of the academic year. You will inherit a full timetable of mixed ability sets of key stages 3 and 4. You will take full responsibility for all planning, preparation and marking and may also be required to assist with various extra curricula activities. Classrooms are well equipped and well resourced.

It is essential that you are an excellent classroom practitioner – you must be able to teach across the full ability range. You must posses an enthusiasm for teaching Geography which can be shared with your pupils. You will be confident, creative & have the ability to drive all students to reach their full potential. You will hold QTS (or UK NARIC equivalent), have experience of teaching Geography within secondary schools and have a full understanding of the national curriculum.

Ideally you will have a proven record in raising and maintaining attainment levels and always be looking to keep standards high for the students. You will be an enthusiastic teacher who is highly motivated and truly leads by example. You should be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and be well versed in excellent behaviour management strategies.
