Teaching Assistant

A Teaching Assistant is required at a wonderful primary school located in Westminster to start ASAP. The successful candidate will be placed in either a Year 3 or Year 4 class and previous experience is highly desirable.

This is a full time long term position that will carry on for the rest of the academic year. a permanent position will be available for the right candidate.

The main duties will include:

• Working with the Class Teacher in Year 3 or Year 4 , using your own initiative to enthuse students’ learning

• To be able to discuss observations of students’ work and assist the teacher in planning for the development of their learning

• Operating basic classroom use of technology such as computers, audio, video equipment and Using basic and photocopying

• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom

The school is located close to Marylebone station and several other tube stations and is easily accessible from West, North and East London. Staff and students love being at this school which is located in such a beautiful part of London. This is a well-established school in the Westminster borough with a progressive Head Teacher and SLT leading the school. The atmosphere of the school has been described as busy and friendly and staff will often socialise together on a Friday afternoon and participate in cross-school sporting competitions. The school boasts several multi-purpose outdoor areas and classrooms are larger than average given the school’s central location.

 

Required:

  • You will have previous Teaching Assistant or Classroom Based Experience 
  • Experience working 1-1 with a child with SEN-preferable 
  • Experience working with Zones of Regulatio (ZOR)- preferable 
  • Experience working with intervention group- preferable 
  • Experience working with EHCP-preferable 
  • Aware of various ASD and other SEN
  • Have a behavior management strategy
  • Eligibility to work in the UK (must have valid visa/ overseas police check if relevant)
  • Relevant references covering your last two years of employment
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS or willing to undertake one
