The Information Security and Compliance Auditor role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) business unit.

Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world. BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services. We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group and our external customers.

The role

The difference our new Audit Specialist will make

As an Information Security and Compliance Auditor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be taking responsibility for security and business continuity audit coordination and maintenance of the respective BCMS and ISMS.

Day to day, you’ll ensure the efficient and effective assurance of IT Business Continuity and Security for Babcock. Providing support to future contract bids in relation to BCMS and ISMS and audit compliance, as well as working with stakeholders to plan, coordinate audits, ensure readiness and effective delivery.

This role provides hybrid working arrangements, access to any UK Babcock hub, along with some expected travel requirements in order to carry out essential audits.

Essential experience

You will need knowledge and understanding of international standards such as ISO 22300, ISO 27000 and NIST Cyber Security Framework.

You will also need the following:

  • Own a car and UK driving licence is essential
  • A university degree or relevant experience in Information Technology and/or Cyber Security is desirable.
  • Hands-on Business Continuity/Information Assurance experience or internal IT and Security auditing experience is desirable.
  • Must be able and willing to travel as required with some overnight stays expected.
  • Lastly, you must hold or have ability to obtain SC security clearance.
