Responsibilities:

If you want to work as an design and technology teacher in Havering, you will be asked to:

  • Plan lessons with cross-curricular links that are hands-on, knowledge rich and engage children
  • Teach engaging and hands-on DT lessons at KS3 and KS4 level
  • Marking and assessment to ensure that pupils make the best possible progress
  • Partake in staff training sessions, CPD courses and department meetings
  • Be a team player, actively working with the rest of the department and asking for support wherever needed to ensure you are always planning and delivering outstanding lessons to pupils
  • Manage student behaviour in and out of the classroom, in line with the behaviour management policy
  • Liaising effectively with the rest of the staff across the school, wherever required, in regards to student well-being, achievement, attendance and behaviour
  • Take ownership of your allocated classes

Requirements:

If you worked as an design and technology teacher in Havering, you will be required to have:

  • QTS in design and technology
  • Relevant teaching experience delivering KS3 and KS4 design and technology lessons
  • Strong behaviour management skills
