Prospectus are excited to be working exclusively with UK for UNHCR to help them recruit for a Director of Philanthropy to join their team. United Kingdom for UNHCR is the UN Refugee Agency’s national partner for the United Kingdom. They help refugees by advocating for their protection and raising funds that help UNHCR deliver humanitarian relief to displaced families across the globe. They are apolitical and believe that every person fleeing conflict and persecution has the right to seek protection, regardless of their race, religion, nationality, political affiliation or social group.
This role is offered on a maternity cover contract, four days a week. Paying c. £75,000 and with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their London office.
The Director of Philanthropy will lead in the identification, cultivation and stewardship of U/HNW donors, prospects and those who could be influential in securing high level gifts for the organisation. Working with the Head of Major Donors, Director of Fundraising, and Head of Private Philanthropy among other colleagues, you will deliver integrated relationship management of donors and prospects too. You will ensure a prompt strategic and tactical response to donors and prospects in the event of humanitarian emergencies and personally manage a pipeline and portfolio of new donors and prospects.
The selected candidate will have experience of working HNWIs, leading them from identification to giving annual and multi-year gifts of six and seven figures. You will have experience of supporting Board members and senior staff to identify and cultivate prospects and influences and will enjoy working with multiple stakeholders in a complex, multi-cultural environment.
