Our Transaction Services team is an award winning team and highly regarded in the market place. The team specialises in financial due diligence, advising clients on business acquisitions and investments. Deal values are typically in the £5m to £100m range. Our new colleague will be an integral part of the team and will help us to continue to build on the opportunities in the market.

The role will provide exposure to a wide range of interesting and exciting transactions across a range of sectors.
This role provides an opportunity for you to join the fast moving world of Corporate Finance and Transaction Services. Working alongside a team of other professionals you will play an integral role in the delivery of financial due diligence projects.

You will work for a variety of clients from a broad range of industries and sectors including private equity, entrepreneurs, large corporates and banks looking to acquire, invest in or fund a variety of businesses. You will see what makes a business successful, and attractive to acquirers / investors and learn about possible funding options for companies looking to grow.

Responsibilities

Our new colleague will manage the execution of financial due diligence assignments on both buy-side and sell-side transactions across a variety of sectors and client types, supporting the directors and partners. They will assist in coaching, managing and supporting the team and to assist in winning new business.

The role will largely focus on supporting the project leader, but also includes a significant aspect of coaching and supporting the development of the due diligence team, developing relationships and assisting in winning work. In all cases working alongside the director and partner group and colleagues.

  • Leading smaller engagement processes reporting direct to partners/directors
  • Performing financial analysis on target businesses for inclusion in due diligence reports
  • Liaising with clients, target businesses and other professional advisors during execution of transactions
  • Reviewing and analysing financial models
  • Due diligence report writing (in Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Researching, preparing and supporting presentations / sales pitches for new business
  • Relationship building with potential clients and intermediaries (private equity houses, banks and corporates)

  • Fully Qualified Chartered Accountant – ACA/CA/ACCA (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working within a professional services practice is essential
  • Genuine interest in, and enthusiasm for, understanding how businesses generate profits and cash including working capital cycles
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and previous report writing experience would be advantageous.
  • Have previous experience working within Transaction Services / Due Diligence would be beneficial
  • Demonstrate experience of project managing a number of engagements at the same time and managing a team of staff.
  • Be technically strong with a good understanding of both UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Displays high level of accuracy, diligence, and integrity
  • Commercially minded and a creative and critical thinker
  • Willing to travel as required
