Hunter Merrifield is thrilled to be working with a pioneering children’s charity to find their new Statutory Manager. In this role you will lead the co-ordination of the tenders and bids across the charity to ensure statutory funding opportunities are maximized. You will work closely with the leaders of the specialist services of the charities and business units of the Charity Group to secure contracts and grants, primarily for direct delivery which improves outcomes for vulnerable children

Key Responsibilities

  • To project manage the completion of individual tender applications, including taking responsibility for acquiring pre-qualification questionnaires and tender documentation and sharing those with relevant staff across the charity.
  • To identify existing and emergent statutory funding opportunities using Tenders Direct and working with staff across the Charity Group.
  • To work with the Head of Trusts and Statutory to ensure project management and bid development processes are followed and high-quality tenders and bids submitted within deadlines.
  • To effectively support staff to write bids and complete standardised sections to a high standard, including social value.
  • To ensure all bids are produced in accordance with charity procedures and budgets have been approved by the central finance team prior to submission.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Direct experience of managing bids from statutory sources, including for six and seven-figure and multi-year.
  • Experience of working effectively with management, and external stakeholders at all levels, and from various disciplines and expertise to develop and submit high-quality tenders.
  • A strong understanding of the statutory funding landscape and assessment criteria and knowledge of compliance requirements for statutory funding eligibility.
  • Ability to manage a challenging portfolio of projects, prioritising competing demands, including working to deadline outside of office hours where required
