Our client is a small but dynamic bid specialist focussed on inspiring their clients to find the right tender opportunities and win them. They work with businesses of all shapes and sizes offering a tailored and comprehensive bid management service. They want to recruit an ambitious and creative candidate to join their team. Ideally you will have strong writing skills and have gained some experience working in a commercial environment. What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be helping to support their broad and exciting portfolio of clients, by curating the enormous body of content they create for them whenthey write their winning bids. No two days will be the same and you’ll be exposed to learning opportunities from a bid consultancy with a win rate consistently above 85%.

Key responsibilities

1. Content management (approximately 80% of workload):

  • Identify and action new or updated relevant information – working with the bid lead and writers during and after the bid process. Also, working with members of the bid team to provide and obtain updated content (from clients) as required.
  • Content curation – lead on preparing existing client content for re-use in future bids, ensuring it can be readily accessed and used by the bid team.
  • Update internal and client-facing knowledge bases (via Dropbox or other client-specified toolkit) within a reasonable timeframe to ensure content availability for live bids.
  • Training – Provide internal and external (client-facing) training to knowledge base users regarding best practice. Gather and implement stakeholder feedback.
  • Knowledge base – design, maintain and implement internal knowledge base processes to ensure content quality and content availability. Undertake regular reviews of processes and structures to support continuous improvement.

2. Bid support (approximately 20% of workload)

  • Supporting bid responses: support the bid team by retrieving relevant content from client knowledge bases to populate answer plans.
  • Content capture and creation – conduct interviews/take raw information and turn it into well written content, leading on any research needed to supplement this process, and ensuring content created represents the client’s tone of voice and reflects the reading preference of the audience. Content will be in many forms, including case studies, biographies, Q&A, policy and procedure documents, etc.
  • Content editing and proofreading – supporting the bid team in preparing / finalising content for submission.

Required skills

  • Outstanding written English skills, including a near-obsessive attitude to grammar and punctuation!
  • Confidence in dissecting and storing content in a logical manner.
  • Excellent project management skills, including organisation and time management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Confidence and ability to undertake research and interviews with external subject matter experts.

Salary: 25,000.00-27,500.00 per year plus biannual bonus subject to performance
