Main Responsibilities

Overview

First line application support for business critical systems, covering reconciliations, general ledger and ETL tools. This role/team supports approx. 500-750 users across these applications, including first line support, overnight batch monitoring, application configuration and stake holder management.

Responsibilities

  • First line application support for Frontier (global reconciliation application), Recon (Reconciliation application), Infor (General Ledger application) and Xceptor (Data translation tool), including leading direct to live project deployment across all four applications.
  • Raising and running service alerts for critical Incidents where required.
  • Liaising with vendors for second line investigations.
  • Access, Profile and Account management for multiple 3rd party banking platforms.
  • Supporting the co-ordination of twice yearly application resilience testing, including collating evidence for audit.
  • Directing service desk activities using ITIL practices in incident, change and problem management as well as request fulfilment.
  • Service desk trend analysis and production of monthly M.I.
  • System performance monitoring for the front-end application and underlying infrastructure.
  • Proficient in streamlining processes to reduce Incident volumes and improve customer experience.
  • Work closely with the build teams for project delivery into live, including ensuring all production acceptance documents / blueprints are reviewed and signed off.
  • Adhoc on-call for escalations that are raised outside of normal operational hours.
  • Occasional weekend work for patching and disaster recovery exercises required.
  • Support the off-shore team with training and adhoc support queries.
  • Complete and QC daily standing data changes via the companies CR system.
  • Identifying and categorising risks and developing mitigating processes to protect the day to day operation.
  • Deputising for the Senior Production Support Manager when required

Knowledge and Technical Skills

Essential

  • 2-3 years’ experience in application support or a technical business function.
  • Basic understanding of SQL
  • The abitlity to learn, use your own iniative and drive to provide good customer serivce
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft based software, e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
  • Reconciliation/Financial Industry knowledge.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of automated process development using UFT / Powershell.
  • Application configuration experience.
  • Knowledge of any of the following systems: Frontier, Infor10, Xceptor, Recon, Crystal Reporting.
  • Knowledge of the SDLC process.
  • Knowledge of surrounding IT infrastructure – Windows Server & Linux Server.
  • Basic understanding of SQL data extracts and analysis methods.
  • ITIL4 qualified or knowledge & experience.
