Primary Responsibilities:
Strategy Development/Implementation: Utilizes Sourcing Management Process and other tools and techniques to create and execute RFIs, RFPs, RFQs together with subsequent structured information analysis wherever possible using modern electronic procurement processes
Continuous Improvement: Ensure that each supplier relationship is established with a bias for continuous improvement
Support development and monitoring of key performance indicators that demonstrate improvements
Change Management: Utilizes project, program and change management skills to manage and drive change both internally and externally.
Contract Negotiation and Management: Extremely important. Reviews and negotiates contract terms and conditions both with internal and external stakeholders, including legal and finance
Performs detailed analysis of supplier proposals and payment schedules and conducts rigorous price negotiations with suppliers
Implements appropriate forms of contract and commitment with suppliers
Diversity: Actively supports diversity, both within Organon as well as expanding relationships and spend with Diverse Suppliers
Category Knowledge: Leverages a detailed understanding of marketplace, competitors and business requirements. Develop keen insights on near term as well as long-term horizon.
Cost Management: Constructs detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services to drive the control, containment and reduction of costs for Organon and to provide deep and meaningful insights to Sourcing Management teams
Knowledge Management: As a sourcing manager, the incumbent will be expected to generate work of a world class quality with the intent to share and transfer this knowledge with colleagues throughout procurement
Education Minimum Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience and Skills:
3 to 5 years of strategic sourcing experience with defined scope & responsibility in technical Procurement categories and/or experience within a global organization in drug discovery research roles
Strong contract negotiation and redline analyzation is critical to the role
Excellent analytical, project management, oral & written communications, relationship, teambuilding and leadership skills
Adaptable in dealing with ambiguous and complex environments
Demonstrated experience in championing changes, communicating candidly, building talent, and achieving results
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Strategic sourcing experience in the global medical affairs, real-world evidence or related experience in a business role within the pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated negotiation skills
