We are supporting a school in Tameside who are looking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant to begin work in the new year. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be tasked looking to improve behaviour standards across the school site. The school has a rigid behaviour policy which will need to be enforced at all times. The school has a significant amount of pupils who are currently struggling to adhere to the policies that the school has set in place. Being able to confidently manage student behaviour is crucial. The school is looking to appoint an individual who will not shy away from the effective monitoring and control of student behaviour. Naturally, the role will bring challenges and so being able to display resilience and patience is key.

Additionally, it is expected that the applicant will be able to:

  • Take inclusion sessions for students who have been suspended from lessons due to Behaviorual problems.
  • Work within a pastoral capacity and manage any direct student problems as efficiently as possible.
  • Communicate with teaching staff in to relation to identifying pupils whose behaviour falls below expected standards.
  • Work with students on a 1:1 basis when necessary.
  • Look to help every student achieve their goals, and act as a role model at all times around the school site.
  • The school is located in Tameside and is a short distance from Manchester City Centre.

    The role will start in January 2023.
