We are delighted to be recruiting for a Technical Advisor to join our South Region Development Team on a part time, permanent basis. Working approximtely 14 hours per week over 2 days, further flexibilty canbe explored at interview.
This role will be mainly site working with a blend of home and office working, but there will be plenty of flexibility. As you’ll be visiting sites across our portfolio, a full UK driver’s license and your own transport is essential. Your office base would be Christchurch but you could work from any of our offices.
This role is to monitor the construction of all new developments on site to ensure that Sovereign’s standards for design and quality are achieved. You will undertake site inspections and produce written reports to monitor progress and quality of work on site.
Responsibilities include:
Continually monitor the works on site to ensure that the quality of the construction meets Sovereign’s standards.
Carry out inspections at completion of the homes and the preparation of snagging schedules.
Assist in finalising the design and specification for new developments
Assist in reviewing the Employer’s Requirements / Design Brief on a regular basis to continually improve the standards of new homes
What you’ll need
You will have up to date and relevant experience of new build construction processes and technical standards including NHBC and current Building Regulations.
A knowledge of CDM Regulations and H&S relating to construction
Knowledge and experience of working with Development Agreements and JCT Design & Build forms of contract is advantageous
Able to demonstrate the ability to prioritise and plan your work effectively
Excellent communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and third parties
Proven experience of working to tight deadlines and producing accurate and detailed technical reports
