Five Education is excited to be supporting an independent special school in Taunton, Somerset. You will be working as a Teaching Assistant with pupils who have a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as autism and some challenging behaviour due to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and trauma. The school has a strong ethos of promoting positivity and boosting confidence. The pupils are following a bespoke curriculum that is tailored to their needs. The right candidate will have had experience with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) needs and be confident in helping children to self-regulate and utilise coping mechanisms. This role will heavily involve building a trusting relationship with the pupils to help them feel settled and comfortable at school. The successful candidate will benefit from working in a supportive staff team. There will be frequent CPD opportunities. The school has excellent facilities, including access to an offsite forest school.
