About the role

Reporting to the Head of Group Tax Reporting within the Head Office finance team in London this is a broad tax role focusing on a mixture of Tax Reporting and Advisory. You will utilise your Tax Reporting skills and experience to add immediate value but will also have great exposure to tax compliance and advisory work on various projects and initiatives. This is an ideal role for someone with strong tax reporting skills combined with tax compliance and advisory experience gained either in practice or in-house.

What you’ll be doing

Responsibilities will include:

Group Tax Reporting

  • Managing Half Year and Year End IFRS Group Tax Reporting for inclusion in the Group Annual Accounts, including close liaison with the Group Finance team, UK and US tax teams and the Groups auditors.
  • Management of the Groups effective tax rate and cash tax position for budget, monthly and long-term forecasts as well as being responsible for maintaining the HFM tax reporting process
  • Tax compliance & advisory

  • Assist with tax structuring advice and analysis of various Infrastructure Investment projects
  • Review and monitor specific tax issues like CIR, CCO in our joint venture companies
  • Provide assistance on various business initiatives across the tax function as well as the wider finance teams
  • Promotion of tax awareness and policies across the Group including delivering training on tax issues to non-tax colleagues
  • Provide support to the Treasury function including review of loan documents, WHT and FATCA declarations
  • Assisting with International Tax matters including compliance and reporting of transfer pricing policies & CBCr.
  • Support the International businesses with their operational tax issues including review of permanent establishment risks, withholding taxes, employee tax issues and tax enquiries.
  • Advising on liquidations of subsidiaries and closure of branches.
  • Who we’re looking for

    Experience and Skills

  • Background in Corporate tax
  • Qualied accountant and / or chartered tax adviser
  • Good understanding of tax accounting and reporting, legislation, statutory and regulatory frameworks, in particular IFRS
  • Good understanding of tax reporting and tax consolidation programmes
  • Strong Excel skills
  • An understanding of UK & international tax legislation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be good at juggling and prioritising multiple tasks and working to tight deadlines
