Vetro Social Care are recruiting for 5 Children Residential Support Workers for a 3 bedded Children home in Monmouth, Wonastow with immediate starts. You will be working alongside an experienced team of Managers and Support Workers to provide the best possible care for the children in the home.
Currently there is one service user in the home and is very settled. The home is located in a very beautiful setting surrounded by fields and woods. It is a must to be a driver in order to get to the location of the home.

Overview:

  • Title: Children’s Residential Support Worker (temp-to-perm). This is a temp-to-perm role, meaning that after 12 weeks, there is an opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate
  • Pay: £12.05 per hour for the first 12 weeks (inclusive of holiday pay), after 12 weeks, rate goes up to £12.30 per hour (annual salary between £22,666-£24,626)
  • Location: Monmouth, Wonastow
  • Hours: 8am-11pm plus sleep ins (shifts and hours to suit the need of the house- roughly 37.5 hours a week)

The role:
What you’ll be doing as a Children’s Residential Support Worker (temp-to-perm)

  • To support the children and young people in all day to day activities and interests
  • To promote the young person’s independence and wellbeing
  • To attend weekends away, holidays and trips away with the Children
  • To protect the children and young people from any risks to their health and welfare
  • To provide emotional and practical support to the young people within your home.
  • To ensure the safety of young people by maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines
  • To support, overcome and learn to minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging .

The successful candidate:
What you’ll need to be successful as a Children Residential Support Worker

  • A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
  • Empathetic, caring and resilient nature
  • Must be aged 21 or over, due to the oldest child at the setting and due to the policies of the organisation
  • At least 6 months experience of working with children or within a similar Social Care setting
  • Valid UK Driving Licence for at least 3 years and with no more than 6 points on the licence
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
