You will be working with a case load of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children to undertake assessments and implement the relevant child-centred support. You will continue to develop your expertise of the needs of and provision for asylum seeking children in Lancashire by collaborating with the Refugee Integration Team. You will also support other social workers who have less experience of this client group and be actively involved in practice development and helping to improve the practice with regards to these young people across the organisation.

We are looking for an experienced social worker who can hit the ground running and is passionate about refugee and asylum sector work.

You must be registered (SWE) to be appointed as a Social Worker or have applied to register with the Social Care Council. For Social Worker/Care Manager positions where non social worker qualifications are accepted, registration is not required, and you will be appointed as a Care Manager.

Occupational Therapists must be registered with the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC).As per the Council’s response to COVID-19, interviews will be held via Microsoft Teams video conferencing, support for which will be given.

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.

This post is a COVID-19 critical post. The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo regular COVID-19 testing and are strongly encouraged to take up the offer of the COVID-19 vaccination.
