Guys and St Thomas is among the UKs busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. 

Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients.

Join our Respiratory, Radiology imaging and interventionalist team in the newly built Diagnostic Centre at the Royal Brompton Hospital.

We are currently seeking an adult trained band 7 nurse to lead our brilliant nursing team and service in the Bronchoscopy/ Interventional Radiology (IR) unit in the Diagnostic Centre.

The Royal Brompton Hospital is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK. We are known throughout the world for our expertise, our standard of care and research. Based at the Royal Brompton in Chelsea the unit accommodates a mixture of diagnostic, interventional radiology, interventional bronchoscopy and recovery services.

Main duties of the job

The candidate will have excellent patient care values, a strong sense of team spirit and compassionate leadership skills. They will also be keen to develop and enhance their skills.

The candidate will co-ordinate and deliver day-to-day care to ensure smooth running of the service. The role also entails managing a small team of nurses so experience in this area is essential. 

The candidate will liaise with the core team, nurses, consultants, schedulers & matron on a daily basis to plan and organise service delivery and patient care.

The candidate will be able to use their clinical skills in this role whilst using their management skills.

Working hours are Monday to Friday.

Candidates should be an adult registered nurse with experience in Bronchoscopy and/or Interventional Radiology or recovery nursing. ALS is essential.
