About the role

As a Scrum Master you will work closely with both feature team members and the wider engineering and business community including Product Owners, Delivery Leads, Architects, and a range of shared teams, to deliver business value using standard agile methods. You’ll coach one of the feature teams in the art of agile delivery and instil a continuous improvement approach.

The pace and scale of change taking place requires a passion for new thinking, new ideas and continuous improvement, as well as a flexible approach when interacting with wider teams.

For us, Scrum Masters are essential to smooth working in the lab and are a key part of our wider leadership team, helping to make Ledger Lab a great place to work.

As part of our Scrum Master team:

  • You’ll be championing new ways of working as we shape our Bank of the Future.

  • You’ll operate collaboratively, be a change pioneer with a passion for working to help people and teams deliver their best work, and improve facilitation of change, using agile methodologies.

  • You’ll support our teams in understanding agile theory, practices, rules, and values and translating this into practice.

  • You’ll facilitate and help the team to become self-organised and focused on delivering the outcome for the customer, and train and mentor colleagues, to help maximise the value created by the Team.

About You – Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience

We believe that people don’t fit neatly into roles, and we value everyone’s individual skills, experience, and knowledge – it’s what makes you phenomenal. As such, we encourage applications from different backgrounds. As a minimum however, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master preferably with a Professional Scrum Master Qualification (at least at level 1, but ideally at level 2);

  • Strong agile method experience, preferably in a software engineering environment;

  • Strong experience of using tools to enable continuous improvement and metrics to improve the flow of work;

  • A desire to adopt new ways of working to reduce the risk of ‘big bang’ deliveries, unblocking issues using your own judgement and initiative;

  • An ability to adapt, be dynamic and challenge the status quo when relevant, bringing stakeholders with you in a journey of change.

You’ll be fully supported in understanding our change approach, building networks across the organisation, and developing the foundations for a successful and exciting career. It is a great time to join the team – where our vision is to end every day better than the last.
