Guys and St Thomas is among the UKs busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. We support families from pre-conception, before birth, throughout childhood and into adult life.

The Paediatric Haemophilia and Thrombosis Service is the hub of the South London Paediatric Haemophilia Network with services at St Georges University Hospital and Lewisham University Hospital.

We are seeking a band 7 haemophilia and thrombosis clinical nurse specialist to provide clinical care, education and training for the families of babies, children and young people with bleeding disorders, thrombosis and other blood conditions. The CNS will be an advocate ensuring that all children and families are treated with compassion, dignity and respect, placing value on the diversity of the local community and beyond.

Main duties of the job

The successful individual for the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist for our Paediatric Haemophilia and Thrombosis service will have substantial post registration experience. You will be an integral part of the multi-professional team working together to deliver this specialist service, promoting treatment pathways that empower and support children and families to enable and support care as close to home as possible.

You should have evidence of prior leadership and management, and are committed to continuously developing professional skills.

The role also incorporates our research portfolio at 0.2 WTE. You will play a key role in coordinating and conducting cutting-edge health research to develop the care for our children and young people with haematological conditions.

You need to be an expert communicator and educator, able to manage complex situations and support children, young people and their families.
