Job Details

  • To maintain plant utilities machinery i.e. HVAC, AHU, Steam, Air, RO Water. Ensuring that these continue to operate at optimum levels with a minimum of downtime to support manufacturing.
  • To adjust machinery or to suggest ideas or modifications to improve efficiency.
  • To support Manufacturing, site maintenance and other functions in all aspects of both production and continuous improvement projects.

Key responsibilities
What will this role involve?

  • Undertake routine maintenance of site utilities equipment in accordance with the Facilities planned maintenance schedule
  • Carry out fault finding to detect and repair faults on machinery and equipment relating to facilities
  • Timely reaction to breakdowns and speed of response in rectifying issues raised
  • Supervise external contractors and colleagues as required
  • Timely completion of Maintenance requests
  • Maintain records of maintenance carried out
  • Advise other maintenance personnel on any technical issues beyond their scope
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with statutory and company safety rules, health and safety legislation and environmental standards
  • Support Manufacturing, Quality, R&D and Project Engineering activities as required

What we’re looking for?

  • A recognised qualification e.g. C&G/NVQ2 or above, in an Engineering discipline (Preferably electrical).
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Design and fabrication including welding ideally Mig/Tig
  • Electrical fault finding and installation
  • Pipework modification and assembly
  • Hands on knowledge of relevant plant and machinery e.g. HVAC, AHU
  • Communication skills
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Practical and logical approach to problem solving and dealing with breakdowns and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to work well within a team with a flexible approach.
  • Experience of continuous improvement/ world class manufacturing
  • Knowledge and understanding of H&S legislation/compliance
