Responsibilities

Development of one-, three- and five-year category plans for your sub-categories, including plans for individual sourcing projects and identified cost saving benefits

Scheduling and running regular sub-category review meetings with key stakeholders

Continually develop functional expertise and category knowledge ensuring it is utilised across the Group to improve business performance.

Managing the delivery of spend analysis and supply market research

Developing a portfolio of market intelligence, and where appropriate presenting to senior stakeholders

Developing specifications for commodities, products and services to be purchased

Drafting Pre-Qualification Questionnaires, Invitation to Tenders and other tender documentation

Running tender evaluation and the supplier selection processes

Generating opportunities in order to serve Arriva businesses better; and

Managing risk to supply and costs

Contributing to supplier relationship management programmes

Creating buy-in amongst all category stakeholders to implement sub-category and supplier strategies

Resolving any conflict within the stakeholder group to ensure the optimum outcome for the business is achieved

Contract creation and management

Project management

Knowledge of restrictions associated with supply

Relevant role in a rolling stock operator is an advantage or a comparative role in another similar industry

A self-starter who is results-driven with high levels of self-motivation, mobility, energy and initiative

Strong decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests

Ability to manage a wide range of supplier relationships, from short term tactical relationships to long term Strategic partnership
