Established in 2020, Green Bioactives Ltd (GBL) is an exciting and innovative early-stage company which has developed a sustainable, reliable, economical plant cell-based biomanufacturing platform for plant-derived biomolecules. Head of Business Development

A highly experienced Business Development Director /Manager, reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for undertaking, leading and managing business development to ensure the realisation of Green Bioactives’ global growth and development plans through targeted customer / partner acquisition, engagement and development.

You will be focused on leading business development and securing, developing and retaining strategic customers / partners within Green Bioactive’s proven target markets, including Pharmaceuticals, Food and Drink, Agriculture, Nutraceuticals, Personal Care & Cosmetics, Health & Wellbeing and Traditional Medicines.

You will be directly responsible for;

  • Supporting the executive team in defining the strategic growth plan for the organisation and developing and expanding all commercial activity to ensure the generation of sustainable revenue streams;
  • Assessment of the competitive landscape and working with the leadership team to develop and implement marketing and sales activities to meet the company’s growth projections;
  • Leading and undertaking business development activities to ensure realisation of the business and technology vision;
  • Negotiating coherent, effective commercial proposals with global target customers, ensuring both near-term business growth and longer-term opportunity maximisation to ensure sales forecasts and target revenues are achieved;
  • Preparing, negotiating and closing complex value proposition deals within target sector markets and providing accurate data in relation to sector penetration and growth impact;
  • Ensuring that Green Bioactives can measure performance against relevant global sustainability goals and targets;
  • Preparation and reporting on operational sales forecasts and delivering on-target revenues;
  • Securing and negotiating relationships and contractual agreements with new and existing customers;
  • Supporting the executive team in seeking out, identifying and securing sources of development stage funding;
  • Working with legal counsel in relation to managing IP, competitive intelligence, licensing and accompanying legal activities.
  • Minimum degree qualified within a relevant life sciences discipline, ideally possessing an MBA, you will have a wealth of experience as a senior Business Development professional with responsibility for undertaking, leading and managing customer acquisition and business growth in strategic business role within a dynamic start-up or blue-chip life-sciences organisation, previous experience within a biomanufacturing environment would be a distinct advantage.

    You will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to undertake, lead and manage effective and targeted business and sales growth with a clear demonstration of success in developing and negotiating highly profitable commercial proposals with a comprehensive network of target customers in one or more of Green Bioactives’ biomanufacturing platform’s key fields of commercial application.

    An energetic and highly professional “self-starter”, you will have an inherent ability to rapidly adapt to meet the demands of working within a small, dynamic multi-functional team. Possessing first class commercial acumen, your well-honed communication, negotiation and presentation skills will have ensured successful revenue generation across multiple sectors and technologies.
