We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop and improve NPD and Production workstreams providing efficient, safe and cost effective practices, tools and processes. You will have responsibility for specific projects and strategic improvements. In your role you will embrace all three principles of the Volvo CE philosophy: Flow, Continuous Improvement and Perform & Develop.
To be successful in this role, we believe:
- You have passion for safety and quality
- You have a BSc in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant technical qualification.
- You have a minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing processes in a heavy equipment industry
- You have an understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and software systems used on mobile equipment
- You have 2 years experience with capital/budget duties
- You can demonstrate supervisory experience
- You can demonstrate a working knowledge of design for production, JIT, lean and continuous improvement techniques.
- You have experience of introducing complex New Products into fully production
- You are a collaborative team player and also capable of constructively challenging other colleagues
- You can demonstrate leading, and working within, cross functional working teams
- You are fluent in English
- You have competent IT Skills including Microsoft Office
- You have good communication skills in verbal, written and presentation format
- You have an existing right to work in the UK
