Ceredigion Community Nursing services are offering the opportunity for a Band 7 Practice and Professional Development Nurse to come and join our Community Nursing Team in Ceredigion, supporting the professional and educational development of community staff.

 With a remit covering a variety of community services including community hospitals and community nursing services, this role will suit an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and adaptable professional who is passionate about the clinical and professional education of other nurses. This role offers the opportunity to work flexibly, with a mix of on site and home working.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Corporate Professional and Practice Development teams and the Head of Community Nursing in Ceredigion, the role will be fundamental to providing assurance of standards and ensuring that continuing personal, professional and practice development is an integral part of the community-nursing ethos.

The post-holder will have a key role in the clinical and professional development of staff, whilst providing opportunities to support and facilitate best clinical practice across a range of community services. You will be expected to use highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in order to develop support and motivate individuals and groups within the learning environment. An ability to develop and maintain excellent inter-professional partnership working with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally is essential for this post.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Our 11,000 members of staff provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services for around 384,000 people across a quarter of the landmass of Wales.   • Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;
  • Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

    Qualifications and Knowledge

    Essential criteria

  • Current NMC Registration
  • Recent Teaching/Mentoring qualification
  • Post registration degree in specialist area / evidence of post registration study at degree level
  • Evidence of Masters level learning or willingness to undertake with equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of NMC Code of Practice/Guidance
  • Desirable criteria

  • PGCE qualification
  • Clinical Supervision
  • Area of in-depth knowledge / experience
  • Registration as Teacher or Associate Teacher

  • Extensive post-registration experience including experience in a management / leadership role
