Youth Centre Operations Manager
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth Centre Operations Manager based in East London with a top tier Housing Association.
Pay rate is equivalent to £37,260
Interviews will be held on 6th of September so it is imperative you are available on that day
This centre is a creative arts youth service designed to inspire. It has been shaped by young people, for young people. It offers free, state of the art sound, film, design, art and broadcasting facilities, alongside performance, dance, boxing, fashion, styling and chill areas. The goal is to support and inspire young people to reach their full potential.
You will ensure the centre’s facilities are of top quality to enable the centre to be the leading creative arts youth destination in London. You will effectively line manage a team supporting them to do their best in their roles.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
To lead facilities, repairs, and technical staff to ensure the building is well maintained and that repairs are carried out to a high standard and quickly
To hold contractors to high standards to ensure repairs and work are good quality
To lead technical staff to ensure the centre uses the facilities available to their full potential to deliver top quality events and programmes for young people
To manage the cleaning contract to ensure the building is cleaned to a high standard
To coordinate periodic refreshes of the building where needed, following the procurement processes to engage contractors to do the work
To manage annual maintenance contracts with contractors to ensure compliance and best value for money
To lead facilities staff to manage the use of space in the building using a database, taking room bookings, planning large events, and ensuring resources are in place to deliver high quality events
To work with health and safety team and compliance teams to ensure that the centre building meets all health and safety and compliance requirements and is a safe space
To lead the front desk team in delivering a welcoming service to all visitors to the centre including staff, young people, external hire clients, partners, volunteers and members of the public
To lead the partnership with the centre’s café to ensure the offer is quality
Requirements
Enjoy working with teenagers and youth
Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation in a youth context
Creative and able to create new activities
To lead, inspire and train each team member
To review M&E and adapt and make changes where needed
Logistics and planning in a public venue experience including facilities management
