Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Location: Chartham, Kent

Salary: £13.26 per hour

Hours: Thursday to Monday 7.30am – 6.00pm (could be required to work on rotating shifts including 1.00pm – 11.30pm during peak periods)

  • Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:

  • Organise the Operatives to ensure daily production requirements are achieved and customer orders are to the highest quality and standard.
  • Ensure that the despatch area is used to maximum capacity.
  • Line manage a team of 10 Despatch Operatives, including training and absences.
  • Review and plan daily workload with the Despatch Manager.
  • Deliver clear and concise instructions to Operatives in order for tasks to be completed in a productive and cost-effective manner.
  • Communicate effectively to managers, colleagues, customers, and drivers.
  • Ensure staff adhere to health, safety and hygiene policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment (forklifts, electric and hand barrows and flexi trucks) and machines used in despatch are safe and suitable for purpose.
  • Immediately address issues regarding load plans, intakes, stocks, scanners, machinery forms and cleanliness and escalate to Despatch Manager where required.
  • Sign CMR and delivery notes.
  • If working on the late shift to ensure stocks are correct and saved, the site is clean, lights are off and the site is locked and secure before leaving.
  • Constantly re-assess the department workload.
  • Update and address new orders or requests passed on from the Despatch/Production Managers.
  • Ensure stocks are used in the correct rotation to meet customer wishes.
  • Support Despatch Operatives with any problems or issues they may encounter.
  • Manage performance and conduct related issues seeking advice and support from Despatch Manager and HR Department.
  • Provide cover in the absence of Despatch Manager,

  • Experience of working in a food production/manufacturing environment.
  • Level 2 Hygiene and food safety awareness – ideal but not essential.
  • Level 2 HACCP – ideal but not essential.
  • Forklift licence – ideal but not essential.
