Pertemps Recruitment on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Trainee SAP Support Analyst to join the HR Systems Team in their Aylesbury office (HP20 area). Working alongside the Team you will assist in the support and testing of the SAP HR System to deliver an effective and efficient system to key system users

About the role
As a Trainee SAP Support Analyst, you will find yourself assisting our customers with their daily requests such as system and process errors which will require you to investigate, identify options and provide solutions in order to resolve the customers query. You will be responsible for actioning the daily business as usual requests which consist of employee and organisational data changes as well as ongoing validation of master data held within the HR and Payroll system in order to meet statutory obligations and business requirements for manager and HR. There may be occasions where you’ll need to provide coaching and training workshops to our key systems users upon new developments in order to promote the most effective and efficient use of the SAP system. You will also work with the BSP Operations Team to ensure HR Teams have a good and current understanding of support and transaction processes with supporting documentation.

You will be required to assist with the testing of existing and proposed functionality within the SAP HR, Payroll and Employee Self Service (ESS)/Manager Self Service (MSS) and provide additional diagnostic support in respect of operational functionality. Under the supervision and guidance of an SAP Support Analyst you will work closely with service Managers and schools to clarify the business requirements from SAP and assist in the validation and development of the SAP HR system to meet those business needs.

This is a temporary position until January 2023, though there is potential for this to be extended further. The pay rate is £12.99 per hour, and you will be working full time, 37 per week. Buckinghamshire Council are currently working on a hybrid basis where you will work in the office 2+ days per week and remotely for the rest of the week.

The Aylesbury office is conveniently situated in the town centre (HP20 area) with great transport links including a local train station and excellent road connections to the M25, M1, M4 and M40

About you
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous knowledge of SAP ERP
  • ServiceNow Knowledge is desired but not essential
  • Can demonstrate an ability to use Microsoft applications i.e. Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication, clear and concise spoken and written skills, great customer service experience
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Relevant practical experience within HR Services and understanding of HR Processes
  • Expert knowledge of relevant systems, policies, regulations, professional guidance’s and legislation
  • Team Player with strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Can demonstrate an ability to use initiative and make judgement calls to resolve problems
