Radar Application Engineer

Primary Purpose of the Role:

The Radar Application Engineer will configure and evolve Thales radar products for use in specific customer environments.

The role will include producing customer specific Airworthiness and Safety documentation and managing product obsolescence.

Radar domain knowledge is not essential, although desirable, as training will be provided.

Previous experience of specifying avionic product operational environments and DAOS airworthiness and safety requirements is essential.

This is not a radar maintenance role.

The Radar Application Engineer will become a key member of our Radar product support team and a potential future product design authority.

Role Definition:

Analyse customer requirements and determine how they can be satisfied by Thales radar products.

Produce estimates for bid and project work including identifying risks and opportunities.

Produce customer specific airworthiness and safety documentation.

Resolve product obsolescence as necessary working with the Software and Hardware Development teams as required

Support customers and potential customers as necessary

 Support Thales manufacturing as necessary to resolve production problems.

Candidate Profile

Skills

Demonstrable technical knowledge in developing or at least configuring electronic avionic products (e.g. Avionic Radar / Radio etc).

Good team, customer and supplier engagement skills.

Experience

Experience of designing or obsolescence management of electronic avionic products.

Experience of applying DAOS airworthiness and safety processes.

PC Literate: Windows, DOORS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project & Visio.

Qualifications

Good Engineering Degree or related Discipline (or equivalent qualification and/or experience).
