Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for the 24 hour management and provision 
of nursing care within the designated clinical area. The post holder will be an expert in the assessment, planning and 
implementation of all areas of nursing care and provide clinical leadership 
within the service. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that high standards of clinical 
evidence based care are continuously achieved and monitored.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that the Health Board Dignity 
Pledge is implemented within their area of responsibility and that at all 
times, members of staff treat patients, families and colleagues with dignity 
and respect.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • NMC Registered Nurse
  • DIPLOMA IN NURSING
  • Desirable criteria

  • Degree in relevant clinical/professional subject
  • Management Qualification
  • Advanced Life Support or willingness to undertake
  • SKILLS

    Essential criteria

  • Evidence of good organisational skills.
  • Evidence of people management and leadership skills alongside the ability to care with warmth and understanding
  • Evidence of analytical skills
  • Effective problem solver
  • Ability to negotiate and communicate with patients and all members of the Multidisciplinary Team
  • IT skills e.g. e-mail, MS Word

  • Significant registration experience
  • Experience within an appropriate clinical area

    Essential criteria

  • Evidence of knowledge and application of consent, data protection, patient confidentiality and risk management with Health and Safety issues.

  • Knowledge of national strategies related to sphere of nursing/midwifery and current professional nursing issues

  • Knowledge of Interview and Appraisal process.
