The Emergency Care / Acute Medical Complex at Glasgow Royal Infirmary have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to gain experience in all aspects of Emergency Medicine. The 24 month rotation program includes the Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Unit, Acute Medical Receiving Unit, and the Short Stay Medical / Head Injury unit you will be based in each unit for a minimum of 6 months. The Emergency Care units manage approximately 350 patients per day. The AMRU is a 68 Bedded Receiving Unit with an area of Hyper Acute Stroke. The complex cares for a varied range of patients from the North East of Glasgow. We require an experienced Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Team. You will work within the nursing and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care to a defined patient group, competently performing the necessary technical, invasive and physical aspects of care. Cannulation, IV medication administration is essential. It would be preferable if applicants have previous experience in working in the Emergency or Acute Care Unit with extended role skills. The shift pattern is 11.5 hours rotational over 24 hours and 7 days
