Main duties of the job

Lead on a range of Cardiac Physiology workforce development projects, effectively and efficiently, and ensure cohesive links to other initiatives across the network, SHA and national programmes

Lead across a range of Cardiac Physiology professionals and agencies to promote, influence and agree future developments for pre-registration training across north Wales

Provide comprehensive training and assessment programs and promote Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for Cardiac Physiologists across north Wale

Undertake scoping, review and audit of workforce, training and development and registration practice across the Cardiac Physiology workforce within north Wales

Produce training plan and manage trainee cardiac physiologists, including holding regular progress reviews, monitoring logbooks, assessing skills and ensuring training milestones are met

As an independent practitioner, use a range of negotiating and problem solving skills when communicating information to a wide variety of patients from all backgrounds, and other healthcare professionals.

This post is fixed term/secondment for Until 31st March 2023 to meet the needs of the service.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Masters level qualification or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Appropriate registration

    Essential criteria

  • Significant experience in a postgraduate scientist role
  • Experience of undertaking scientific research at postgraduate level.
  • Experience of carrying out assessment and signing off competence
  • Desirable criteria

  • practice as a scientist at Band 7 or above, with line management
  • Previous experience of supervising trainees
  • Aptitude

  • Clear understanding of the STP curriculum
  • Knowledge and understanding of the STP assessments
