Location: Guildford, Surrey but with frequent travel across the county (option of homeworking)
Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £32,880 – £35,940 per annum

About the Employment & Communities Manager Role

As an Employment & Communities Manager, you will be working closely with the Senior Operations Manager for our Employment services and will be a key member of our operational management team. You will manage the Employment and Community service in West Surrey, where you will be required to travel across the county. You will be responsible and accountable for promoting and delivering the vision and values of Surrey Choices and implement business and service development plans to ensure that KPI targets are met.

You will be required to ensure the planning and provision of outcome-based services, promoting customer independence, choice, and control. You will work across Surrey Choices services, to ensure that all customers are supported to achieve their aspirations relating to paid and voluntary employment and achieve independence within their local communities.

You will also be required to maintain and build relationships with parents/carers, employers, Job Centres, community groups and education providers to ensure that all customers’ needs, and wishes are met.

You are likely to have previous professional experience in delivering high quality care and support in a similar environment, and you will share our Core Values. We are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and engage with individuals, Families/Carers and external partners
  • Experience of developing and managing budgets
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Ability to successfully manage and develop a team through change
  • Proven experience in ensuring service growth through business development
  • A rounded trouble-shooter with the ability to spot problems/trends and implement improvement strategies through to completion
  • Good understanding of Employment Law and other relevant legislation
  • Good IT skills
  • An excellent team worker
  • To be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 unless clinically exempt
