Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensure understanding the impact of bus network changes by analysis of HS2 schemes and programme ranging from journey time reports, service quality reports, contracted bus operator feedback, and information from Network Management, Bus Service Delivery and Surface Asset Operations
  • Support the Principal Bus Analyst in identifying short and long term work packages when liaising with colleagues in Bus Network Performance and Public Transport Service Planning required by HS2 construction works and to clearly identify and capture the result costs/revenue loss
  • Monitor bus route service quality in the areas affected by HS2 construction work and assist Principal Bus Analyst in identifying routes needing improvement. In addition, contributing to the implementation of measures to improve service performance will be required
  • Ensure reliable and robust bus schedules by thorough and accurate checks of schedules required as a result of HS2 construction works meet the required specifications
  • Collate all the costs of HS2 work packages, changes to bus infrastructure and the passenger interface with the bus network prompted by HS2 construction works and ensure they are documented, approved, and implemented in a timely manner
  • Foster and develop good and effective working relationships with TfL teams within the HS2 project to get the necessary information to assist the Principal Buses HS2 Analyst in developing bus operational measures to mitigate against HS2 works
  • In order to ensure that all bus changes relating to HS2 work packages are planned and prepared, ensure these changes are effectively communicated to Bus Operators
  • Ensure bus changes are in place ready for the start of any phase of HS2 works by liaising with the Bus Performance Team to ensure any agreed Bus Operational measures are updated to TfL back-end systems

  • Knowledge of business case development would be an advantage (TfL BCDM) (Desirable)
  • Numerate and computer literate and the ability to quickly gain a working knowledge of bespoke IT systems (Busnet, Ceasar, Adiona) (Desirable)

Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of representing an organisation externally (Essential)
  • Demonstrate effective and wide-ranging experience in transport planning and bus service planning (Desirable)
  • Experience at an advanced level of excel (Desirable)
