Senior Taxation Specialist (VAT Focused) Job Vacancy

Responsibilities
Oversight of 3 staff members
Act as day-to-day operational point of escalation
Coach, develop and train staff to maximise performance
Provide regular feedback to oversighted staff and the Line Manager
Assess training needs of oversighted staff and work in conjunction with the Line Manager to develop and support a training plan
Provide formal feedback and input into interim and year end appraisals
Competencies required for the role:
Essential:
Strong numerical skills and taxation knowledge
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong team building and development skills
Effective delegation skills (adhering to accepted limits of delegation)
Strong analytical, technical research and problem solving skills
Excellent time management and planning skills
Strong computer literacy including Excel spreadsheet skills
Being responsible, reliable and accountable
Experience in a tax compliance or tax advisory role providing services to external clients
Desirable:
Degree qualification in relevant subject (accounting or finance related)
Taxation qualification (e.g. CTA or ATT)
Accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA or CA)
Fund accounting IOC or similar qualifications
Experience of managing, coaching or mentoring others
