Responsible for the smooth running of Filmhouse Cinema ushering
and ticketing requirements, front of house staff supervision and for
delivery of a pleasant and safe customer experience, including the
following key considerations:

1. Customer Service
2. Health and Safety
3. Security
4. Reconciliation
5. Front of House staff support
6. Database Management
7. Reporting and Analysis
8. Business Development
9. Support for and liaison with other CMI departments
10. IT troubleshooting and maintenance of the Box Office System

Front of House Delivery

1. Working flexibly across a range of shifts to deliver exceptional
customer service and a safe and pleasant environment to customers
throughout the Filmhouse Cinema opening times (364 days per
year, from 8am to 1am daily)

2. Emergency procedures: to take a key role in emergency
situations in ensuring the smooth and successful evacuation of the
building and clear communication with staff and customers.

3. Supervision and support of ushers and box office staff. Assisting
on box office by selling tickets, memberships and merchandise on
the counter and by phone. 

4. Successful delivery of both regular cinema operations and
special events, hires and festivals.

5. Ensure the security of the building through regular building
checks, following closing procedures with responsibility for building
opening and closing.

6. Responsibility for the security and recording of all cash and card
reconciliation and, through vigilance and adherence to procedure,
securing customer data and payment details.

7. To ensure that the appearance of all front of house areas is
maintained to the highest standards, and that the proper standards
of display and merchandising are maintained throughout the
building.

8. To monitor merchandise stock levels, to order stock and carry
out stock takes as required. To ensure that all sales and returns of
stock are correctly processed, and follow laid down procedures to
maximise customer choice and sales.

Administration

9. Banking and Reconciliation including cash, card, loyalty points,
gift vouchers and credit.

10. Coordinate membership monthly mail-outs, event
programming, EDI monitoring and arrange discounts and coupons
on the box office system.

11. Web content management for boxoffice.filmhousecinema.com
website. 

12. Support the Head of Cinema Operations and other departments
through Box Office System (SRO) reporting and analysis. 

13. Staff supervision and administration including payroll, recruitment, rotas, training, timely communication and support.

14. Work with programming department and external partners in
the run up to their festivals and events to ensure successful delivery
of their programmes.

15. Maintain and respond to emails to front of house and customer
contact emails in a professional and timely manner.

16. Liaison with IT and Box Office system external companies

17. Prepare for and contribute to the successful delivery of
Edinburgh International Film Festival.

18. Project work to implement changes and development to the
cinema operations

Legislation & Policy

Safety, Licensing and Cinema Licensing, Environment, Disability
Awareness, Data Protection, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

General

1. Follow at all times, all company rules as laid down in the
employee handbook, and maintain a flexible attitude to allow the
company to best utilise your skills as business demands.

2. To carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by the
CMI management.

3. The position is a supervisory role, and as such will require a
flexible attitude to working hours. These will be determined by the
manager, and are as required for the smooth running of the
business, including absence cover. 

4. All other terms and conditions are those applicable to staff in
the companys employee handbook.
