Essex Pathways Department is a gateway to the University of Essex, helping students without standard entry requirements to grow in confidence, unlock their potential, and nurture their ambitions so they can progress in academic study. We provide undergraduate pathway routes to degree courses and equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed on their chosen course.

Duties of the Role

The role holder will support the Module Leader in the teaching and assessment of module at the foundation year level throughout the 2022/23 Academic Year. The role holder will collaborate with both academics and administrative staff to enhance a supportive learning and teaching environment and to ensure that students are equipped with the necessary subject knowledge and skills to succeed in their later years of university study.

Qualifications and Skills required

Applicants should hold a relevant doctoral level degree in Computer Science (or be close to completion of studies), or equivalent professional experience or practice.

You will have experience of working independently in teaching at undergraduate foundation level, or possess demonstrable potential to achieve this, and have experience in developing effective and inclusive in person or virtual learning environments. Applicants should also have experience of teaching in the area of Computers and Electronics.

This is a fixed-term post from 3rd October 2022 until 2nd June 2023 to cover a short-term need. The Department is keen to develop the diversity of its staff and is especially interested in candidates who will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
