NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde is the largest Health Board in Scotland and has a trade spend with third party suppliers of approximately £650m with the Procurement Department providing a comprehensive procurement and logistics service for all Health Board functions. This includes strategic sourcing and advice to improve effectiveness and value for money on all expenditure for goods, services and works.

Due to a recent restructure of our Commercial Team, we have one Senior Commodity Officer role available within our Medical / Surgical team and one within our Estates Commodity Team. The Senior Commodity Officer will ensure that the procurement of goods, services and works are carried out in a professional manner, and delivered in accordance with legal requirements, NHSGG&C Standing Financial Instructions thereby ensuring best value outcomes are achieved.

The post holder will lead for Procurement on procurement projects within an agreed commercial workplan requiring a proactive approach to ensure optimum procurement strategies match user needs and performance targets

We are seeking individuals who is educated to degree level or equivalent, have knowledge of public sector procurement legislation and has preferable experience of hospital /NHS Procurement and health related goods and services
