Deal with breakdowns during the day in garage and on the roadOrganise for the buses to be recovered when necessaryGive mechanical advice to driver in line with the stop & go guideLease with the dock to ensure that the buses are available for operationRepair buses when they arrive back at the depot as necessaryCovering off general mechanical duties as requiredCarrying out servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
MOT preparation
Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA)
Shift Work
Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ)
Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines
Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary
A PCV license is desirable but not necessary
Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable
