Depot Operations Manager – Johnstone Depot

McGill s Bus Service Ltd are Scotland s largest privately owned Bus Company. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Depot Operations Manager to join our team.

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate shall lead and direct from our Johnstone depot, with direct responsibility for all aspects of the operational performance for the depot and for delivering a first-class experience to our valued customers.

You ll be expected to successfully lead and motivate your + Driving team, Duty Managers and Depot based support staff, as well as ensure compliance with Traffic Commissioner guidelines, Health & Safety legislation and ensure KPI (Key Performance Indicators) are achieved. Main Responsibilities:

  • The primary role is to carry out a wide range of operational duties which includes managing the Duty Manager Team and Driving team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all Johnstone depot services on a daily basis to the highest possible standards
  • Understanding the quality of the services delivered from the depot by “walking the job” to monitor quality of services and maintain a continuous review of networks and customer feedback
  • Understand customer needs and embrace partnerships with local stakeholders such as community groups
  • Responsible for the profit and loss accountability of the depot. Assist with the preparation and implementation of annual budgets for Johnstone depot ensuring targets are challenging, achievable and motivational.

    To succeed, you ll need an inclusive approach, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong commercial acumen, and an ability to think and act quickly, whilst remaining professional at all times. Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. A certificate of Professional Competence in Passenger Transport (CPC) would be desirable.
