Job Description

An automotive manufacturer is recruiting an experienced Buyer to work from their Coventry headquarters. The company manufactures components for some of the most prestigious and recognisable car manufacturers. The company are performing well and has a very strong order book and ambitious but tangible growth plans.

You will support the wider Supply Chain team and ensure that the business can hit all production targets by having the right level of materials in line with the production plan. You will purchase both direct and In-direct parts, products, materials etc.

As the Buyer you will support the Supply Chain Manager in:

  • Work with existing supply base across Europe and the Far East to ensure the best possible service is being provided.
  • Build very strong relationships and where possible deliver more favourable commercial terms.
  • Look at a range of new suppliers to increase the supply base.
  • Manage the new component introduction from suppliers.
  • Overall you will work to improve the purchasing function and ensure it is best in class to enable the production targets to be met on time in full.

    • To be successful within the role you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer within an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier.
  • Proven negotiation skills and to have an in-depth understanding of commercial terms
  • Far east sourcing
  • Purchased a range of direct and in-direct products and services.
  • Worked with a range of MER/ERP systems
